The Track Star Orion AVL device combines advanced GPS and cellular communications technologies to produce a powerful vehicle location device.  The Orion AVL device has been designed with a very high degree of flexibility as well as extraordinary functionality.  This combination results in an AVL platform that integrates with your existing business methodologies.

The Orion device employs digital cellular communications technologies within the CDMA cellular network as offered by Verizon Wireless, Alltel and other carriers.  The device uses the packet data capabilities of the 1xRTT network to cost effectively communicate location data from your vehicles automatically.  One of the design goals that was achieved with this product is consideration for communication cost control.  This is done by keeping the data packets as small as possible as well as by providing the user with complete control over the units communications behavior.  As a result, the Orion device provides high levels of position reporting granularity within the confines of low cost "telemetry" data plans offered by the cellular carriers.

The Orion device offers users 8 digital inputs and 8 digital output to provide users with event notifications from vehicles as well as remote control functions.  These inputs and outputs are extremely user definable so that nearly any imaginable functionality can be created!  Additional features provided by the Orion AVL device include:

The Orion AVL device has been designed to make installation an easy task as well.  Activation of the device is as simple as pressing a button.  Indicator lights provide quick and easy status notification of proper function and activation of the devices.  A single cable provides for all necessary connections to vehicle power, ignition and I/O circuits.
